chicago, day 1

Took the train from South Bend, IN to Chicago Millennium Station. Its a 2.5 hour ride along the south shore of Lake Michigan. Popped up out of the train station to see this.

Then we went to see Cloud Gate (aka The Bean). Here’s a photo Moni took from underneath it. This thing is mesmerizing. ***

We left Millennium Park up the bridge to the Art Institute where we toured the museum.

This was one of Moni’s favorite parts of the museum (this part is free, but we went ahead and took the whole tour because it was nearing 95+ degrees at this point).

Van Gogh. 🙂

Back out to the park to hear a free jazz concert (once it had cooled down outside).Trump TowerChicago pizza at Lou Malnati’s, recommended by our friend Ally in Washington state.Night view from the lounge on the 96th floor of the Hancock building.
