sleeping bear dunes, michigan

Here’s the ‘Dune Climb’ area of Sleeping Bear Dunes. It’s a several mile round trip hike out to the lake. We didn’t make it – broken toe was doing strange things on the sand. This is from the top of the first dune. Can you see the little house? (right above ‘horizon’ of the dune on the bottom right. Hint: there are 3 trucks and popup truck campers in a row, we are one of them)View toward the lake from the top of the first dune.MonikaCan you see the little house again?
Doesn’t look that big from here…From the top of the dune above the lake along scenic drive. It is several hundred feet down to the water. One couple made it back up while we were watching. It took them an hour. Another couple headed down while we were watching and it took them 17 minutes to get back up crawling on all fours…
The edge just drops away. Happy to be staying at the top. Ha.Beautiful view. Beautiful water.
