Oh this place. So so funny. I think the census states that seven people live in this town year round! We heard about this place from a biker. Apparently bikers love to come here and visit Chicken Creek Cafe to eat yummy homemade cinnamon rolls and other goodies. Pies. Cookies. Brownies. Yum! Ok now I’m hungry.
When we first got to town we stopped by the post office to drop off some postcards. Seriously the cutest post office ever. There were chickens everywhere! (Sadly, not real ones). Next stop, the cafe. We arrived in the morning and ate a hearty breakfast of pancakes (for me) and a veggie omelet (for Jonathan). We took some cookies and a brownie for the road. We met a guy that has been living in a school bus traveling around the country for 12 years. Wow. Talk about dedication! He has spent the last few summers in Chicken working at the cafe and helping maintain the grounds. He really likes living in Chicken. Heh, typing ‘chicken’ never gets old. Anyway, I think Jonathan wants his next home to be a school bus. Before we left we stopped and took a fun picture near the giant chicken board. If you ever visit Chicken, please send us a postcard and tell us about your experience. Such a fun, quirky little town!
