lassen volcanic national park, round two

Guys! I’m back. Full swing to the end of 2013. Here we go!

August 17, 2013

Back in June, Jonathan and I hiked up Lassen Peak only to find that we could only hike about halfway up due to construction and snow. We deemed this was unacceptable (heh), so we returned on one of the few weekends the trail was open all the way up. We had such a wonderful time! The hike was nice and easy (well I think anything is easy after my 30+ mile trek in Mammoth) and once we got to the top, we spent some time exploring the volcanic formations. Super cool! We even stumbled upon some rare drama aureola plants that only grown above 10,000 ft. They are only about the size of a quarter – so pretty! I think they look like fuzzy succulents.
